Analysis Of The Influence Of Life Value Factors On The Healthy Behavior Of The Elderly In Medono Village Pekalongan City
Abstract
The ease of promoting healthy behaviour among the elderly hinges on factors such as access to healthcare facilities and positive role models, particularly within the family setting. This study, conducted in the Medono Pekalongan village in 2022, explored the influence of various factors on elderly healthy behaviour. Findings from a descriptive-analytic research design revealed that all independent variables, except gender, significantly affected unhealthy behaviour. The most impactful variable was the life value category, emphasising the importance of instilling positive values in older people and their families to encourage healthy behaviour. In Indonesia, older people are a crucial source of advice and wisdom. The study recommends the establishment of an integrated health service center for the elderly known as POSYANDU, focusing on promotive and preventive efforts, including counselling on prevalent health issues such as hypertension, stroke, diabetes, and osteoporosis. Ongoing education and training for healthcare professionals involved in elderly health management are also suggested for continuous improvement
